Have you been in a situation where it felt like you were drowning and there was no way out? Or are you currently in a position where everything just seems like a black hole? You are confused, troubled and anxious every time, even if the problem seems to be easing out, your mind still is not at rest. You are in constant fear of the unknown or of the known things, everything just worries you. You are sick and tired of being sick and tired.
I have good news for you today. It is not God’s will for you to be in such situations or state of mind, the bible says God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7, 2 Corinthians 7:1). Power to overcome any fear or circumstance, love for everyone and sound mind for every situation (knowing what to do in every situation).
The devil wants to keep people, especially believers in depression, in a confused state of mind, so that we will seem hopeless which will make us live a miserable life but God’s promises stand forever sure. Are you facing with a situation that desperately needs a miracle? In a situation that if God does not show up, you are done for? Are creditors threatening to repossess all you have, all that gives you joy, your house, your car? You love your child so much but Child Services are threatening to take him/her away from you? Or the doctor told you that you have a certain amount of time to live? Are you under a very intense pressure at work to deliver and your job or career is on the line and there seems to be no way out for you? Hold on to these:
Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants (requests) known to God. And God’s peace (shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace) which transcends all understanding shall garrison and guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus” (AMP).
Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.] -John 14:27
I’m sure you are thinking, how am I supposed to stay calm in situations like this or not worry, it is impossible. It is possible and I will show you how to stay calm, anxiety free, without fear but bold. The secret is in Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You; because he trusts in You.” The word “perfect peace” in the original Hebrew was “shalom shalom” which means a state of mind at rest, without fear, nothing missing, nothing broken. All this you will have if only you will fix your thoughts on God’s promises for you and put your trust wholly on God. Shalom!!
