Growing up there were lots of teachings on how wealth was dangerous, how sickness is a means for suffering for the sake of God or a means by which God disciplines His people, teachings on how poverty is a thing you suffer for holiness sake, on how tragedies are part of God’s master plan and on how God sometimes choses to heal some people and sometimes (most times) decides not to (probably because He has mood swings).
Thank God for His revelation knowledge, we have misrepresented God in a lot of ways and people’s minds have been conditioned to reason in a particular way based on the image of God they have in their mind. I have come to show you a little bit of the true image of God and His true intention for us.
1 John 1:5 – “….God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all” Clearly stated here, in God there is no darkness, no evil at all in Him. James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness nor shadow of turning.” (God still hasn’t changed). Ever heard of the saying “You can only give what you have, you can’t give what you don’t have”.
John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” another translation of that word “everlasting life” is “eternal life” which is the life of God (Zoe) itself. Jesus said in John 10:10 “….I have come so that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”.
As believers (i.e. whosoever believeth in him), we have been called to have and live an abundant life, this abundant life of God. You can think of it in terms of everything God is, isn’t, can or can’t. God cannot be broke, why should you? God cannot be sick, why should you? In fact, he told us to go round the world healing the sick (how would a sick person go out healing sick people, i.e. he expects us to be healthy), even when we feel the symptoms, we have His word that guarantees our healing (1 Peter 2:24).
God wants to display His glory through you because you are His direct representative here on earth. He wants you to be everything He is. Not a believer that is barely surviving, waiting for Jesus to come as a means of escape from this world, rather as an overcomer, as a conqueror of this world, He expects us to dominate, to possess this world and live His kind of life in this life. There is still so much to do, wealth is not a bad thing, on the contrary, poverty is, in fact dangerous.
All creatures (plants and animals) displays the glory of the Lord, how much more us that are made in the creator’s image. God is waiting on you to display His glory and channel His goodness and blessings through you to the people of world.
