“Jesus finished his work and he is now sitted in the right hand of God”, “God finished His creation works on the 6th day and has been resting since then, He has done all He will ever do and will not be moved to do anything” Sounds familiar? Do you agree when those statements are made? You know scripturally, both are right, not only scripturally but realistically so too.
Also ever wonder the mystery behind Romans 8:28 -“We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.” And Ephesians 1:11 “In Him we also were made [God’s] heritage (portion) and we obtained an inheritance; for we had been foreordained (chosen and appointed beforehand) in accordance with His purpose, Who works out everything in agreement with the counsel and design of His [own] will”?
I’ve always wondered about it and questioned myself, if God has been resting without doing a thing since creation and Jesus has been sitting since he returned to the Father God, how then does miracles happen? If everything we do conforms eventually to His will, how could He have accurately predicted all the steps we’ll ever take? Most people are far away in sin, lost in this world, yet the bible says God has a way of making things still work together for our good and still conform to His will if we come to Him. Remember He’s been resting and watching us, how does He do all these without moving, yet even the worst sinner when they come to Him, He glorifies them and still make them fulfil His will.
I was sitting in church that sunday when the answer dropped in me. “Chains of events”, God does not have to move to do anything. He, in truth has done everything He needed to do, He has a plan for everyone (His will), He has put in place the events, factored in all probabilities and put in place a back route at every case of probabilities to His original plan.
Think of it this way, He has designed different scenarios and our actions and decisions determines which scenario we play out and what we get, but for every scenario there a way that links back to the best case scenario (perfect will).
While I was meditating more on this, a thought dropped in me, “It’s all like a chess game”, do you think God that gave man a reasoning faculty to create a mind-game like chess does not know how to play it Himself? You know in chess, you can make the next ten moves in your mind and predict what your opponent would play as a response to your tactics? It is the best tactician that wins a chess game (I’m not particularly good at the game). God is the best tactician, the greatest strategist you would ever know. He lives out of time so He can predict your whole length of years in one move, varying in the probabilities of if and when you might or might not miss it (His will), He designs a rescue plan to bring you back to His will.
Of course many still refuse these numerous alternatives and still end up in hell but for others, it does not matter when, there is always a way back to fulfilling God’s will because He has designed it that way (for every thing to eventually conform to His will). All He does now is sit, chats with Jesus, who is on His right hand and watch us like a movie, set our events in motion, everything we’ll ever need is place along the way just like in the video games. What we need to reach out to get them (like game buttons on the controller) is our Faith, when we need health we get it by faith because He’s provided it, when we need money it is available, we get it by faith, when we need direction, we get it by faith because all has been provided. I bet God and His son are having a filled time watching us play out our lives.
God has done His part, Jesus has paid the price, what is left is on our part, to chose which path we want to follow. On God’s path, everything we’ll ever need is there, positioned for us to reach out to (His perfect will). Choose carefully.
