The very first characteristic God ever exhibited was Speaking. In Genesis chapter one verses one and two, God created the heaven and the earth and it described the condition of the creation at the moment there, it was in chaos, darkness was upon everywhere, confusion all over, things were not as they were created and supposed to be, something had to be done, God had to come unto the scene because His creation was upside down. It is amazing to know that the first thing God did was to SPEAK, instead of waving a magic wand to create or set things in order, or rolling up His sleeves and getting into construction work by rebuilding brick by brick. God in Genesis chapter one verse three began to speak and He spoke throughout the creation until He saw all that He had created satisfied Him.
God in Genesis chapter one verses twenty six and twenty seven, then created man in His own image, which means we have His characteristics too. God created us to be and act like Him. He has put His spirit in us to enable and empower us to be like Him in every way. We have been born into His family, He is our father and we are His children. Children learn to live by watching their parents. We are to watch and live like God. Our father expects us to handle situation and circumstance the way He has shown us.
When faced with situations like Genesis chapter one verses one and two, hopelessness, confusion, frustration, disorder, lack, etc We are to be like God and start speaking things back into order, to call things which be not as though they were (Romans 4:17). As a believer, we should never cease speaking the word of God into our situations, because that is how our Father God would have us handle it. It is sad though that many speak negatively over their situations. All they talk about is what they have, what is wrong with them, how they are lacking, the seriousness of their sickness, the severity of their sorry case and they go on and on about it until they are filled with complete darkness. They fall into depression and the devil’s oppression because they gave way to him.
You can either say what you have or you can have what you say. The bible said in Mark 11:23 – “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith”. God expects you to speak to your mountains, not lament the magnitude of it. You are to keep speaking without doubts in your heart because you have been empowered to live like God by His spirit that is in you. The same way you received salvation is the same way you will receive everything else in this kingdom –believing in your heart and speaking with your mouth.
When a situation is not right, speak life to it. When a situation appears confusing, speak the wisdom of God to it. When faced with a dead business or career, speak the life of God into it. When faced with a seemingly hopeless situation, speak the word of God to it. Romans 10:8 “….The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith…”. Never allow the devil get the better of you by putting his words in your mouth, fill your heart and mouth with the word of God. Just like your Father God, SPEAK and create what you want, until you are satisfied.
2 Corinthian 4:13 “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak”. The spirit of faith is never quite in face of adversity – KEEP SPEAKING THE WORD and your victory is assured.
