Hebrews 13:8 — “Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is [always] the same, yesterday, today, [yes] and forever (to the ages).” Wow! I love this passage so much. We often read through it like a motion. Something happened recently that made this scripture come alive than before to me. I’ve known this couple for years (about 6 years, they have been married for about 9 years) without a baby of their own. They are so fervent for God, they serve God with all they are and have. After several miscarriages, even I was starting to wonder “Why” because if there was anyone God should favour most and quickly, it should be this couple but every time the word comes to them (prophesy), God always assures them he’s working something out, but this once young couple are not so young anymore.
After about 9 years of marriage, several miscarriages, years of hurt and seemingly dim hopes, I got a call from my sister that night that they had delivered a baby girl. (Awesome God).
When she told me, the first question that rang in me was, “just as it was in the case of Abraham and Sarah, is there anything too hard for the Lord?”, Abraham had to wait 25 years after he received the promise, physically, all hopes were gone but the Bible said Abraham against all hopes believed in the hope…..”, the bible stated that he was fully persuaded that God, who has promised is faithful to fulfil his promises. Is there anything too hard, impossible for the Lord?
Beloved, your current circumstances is not your final state, you may have been in it for so long but God is faithful to do that which he has promised. There are several instances in the bible where the situation seemed hopeless but God came through, several breath-taking testimonies now of God’s faithfulness. The situation only “seems” hopeless or unending but God as in the times past is still God in the present. The fact that nothing seems to be happening does not mean they are not happening. God is simply working behind the scene and will call you on board when it is time. He has a way of displaying his glory through his people. God is DEPENDABLE.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.”.
Remember, He is the same God.
